Our design process
Each piece of jewellery tends to have a story of its own to tell in the life of its owner, whether it is to document a certain occasion or to act as a symbol of one’s love or friendship.
While the whole process of creating a bespoke piece of jewellery, including determining the quality of diamonds and other precious gemstones, can be daunting, Mark tends to make this experience easy and exciting with his trustworthiness and his years of expertise in the field.
The experience that a client has with Mark is personal and often different for every client. Sometimes a client will have only an idea of the piece of jewellery that he or she wants, at which point Mark will sit with them, and go through a process of discussing and sketching the piece until the client is happy with it. Conversely, the client comes into Mark’s studio with a picture of what they would like, and Mark makes it to their exact specifications. If the client is unsure as to what he or she wants, Mark will consult with them throughout the design process, and often he will show them the jewellery as it is being crafted and before the setting of the stones to ensure that they are happy with it.
Mark sources high quality diamonds and precious gemstones according to the clients’ design specifications, and makes jewellery in white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, and platinum. Clients also sometimes bring their own diamonds and gemstones to be set in their piece of jewellery, at which point Mark will either use the stones as they are, or he can get them recut to a better quality if the client so chooses.
